Diablo 3 update 1.29 (2.6.5) is now rolling out for players on PS4 and Xbox One.
As other people have come in and placed bids, my current bid has increased to exceed their maximum bids.
If you win an auction you get both the item and the gold difference between your maximum bid (which you ponied up in full when you placed it) and the current bid when the auction ended (less transaction fees, naturally).
According to the official Diablo 3 version 1.29 patch notes, the new update adds a long list of bug fixes and gameplay changes.
Apart from this, the new Diablo 3 patch 1.29 also brings stability and performance improvements.
Then you bid 5mil and your bid is lower then the current max bid so you get your gold back.short version: you got outbid. You enter your (max) bid, which is default the least amount of increment price (for easy math let's just say it's 110g). As others have said, the only way to know if you can truely win an item is to bid the price that you are 100% willing to pay.
How the current AH works: Say you want to buy a belt. If you get out-bid, then someone is willing to pay more for the item than you are.
Basically, what happens when I choose to bid on an item?Visit Stack Exchange So I decided to pre-download Diablo 3 for the release date.My downloader is at 100% and has been for some time. I tried running the now-complete that was downloaded and it's telling me I cannot due to it being in use by another program (likely the downloader). It will either think it needs updating and never find anything or it will think it is done updating and still need more.Hypothetically, if that auction were to end right now I'd get back about 18k in gold and the Champion Apex.
Blizzard explains the process here: It's not clear to me what that 5% is a percentage of, but I suspect it's the Current Bid.
Today’s Diablo 3 update 1.29 expected to solve all these problems.
